Karen Alley: “Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor” by Frederic Chopin (Friday, Session 5, Level 5 - Advanced, Hammered Dulcimer) 15HD095
This famous piano solo is written in C#-minor, but we’ll play it in E-minor! We’ll also have to leave out a few trills, but I think the beautiful chords of this piece lend themselves well to the hammered dulcimer. You’ll need at least a 16/15 instrument (including a D#5, which is probably at the top of your bass bridge) to make the most of this arrangement, and there will be opportunities to use extended-range bass notes.
