Katie Moritz: Learn a Celtic Air, "Mary, Young and Fair" (Saturday, Session 1, Level 3 - Intermediate, Hammered Dulcimer) 15HD051
“Mary, Young and Fair” is a slow Scottish air with a haunting melody. It’s paired with a beautiful progression of chords that sometimes go to unexpected places. We will be exercising a lot of hand separation to achieve a harp-like sound for this piece and we will discuss one of the earmarks of a Scottish pieces and how they can differ from Irish airs in Celtic music. This workshop will be recorded.
