Sharrie George
Sharrie George, from Daytona Beach, FL, studied music at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, and has been involved with music ministry at churches since 1980. She plays guitar, ukulele, and mountain dulcimer, and has been teaching and perform- ing on ukulele for over 10 years.
She and Guy write and produce books for ukulele, hammered dulcimer, steel drum, pennywhistle, and other instruments. They work as instructors and performers for these instruments at festivals and events all over the U.S..
Sharrie has taught ukulele at John C Campbell Folk School, Common Ground on the Hill, ODPC Funfest, Kentucky Music Week, and many other festivals. She enjoys teaching and has a relaxed but energetic teaching style.
Sharrie also co-founded the Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat with her husband, Guy George, and Bing Futch, in 2013; an annual event that incorporates relaxed, fun teach- ing and playing with fellowship in Homosassa, FL. They have also founded the Cast- away Music Cruise which follows the Retreat, and are planning the 4th Cruise in 2021.
